Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. The current president is and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California and grew up an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss' father was a real-estate magnate who later owned the Lakers and several other companies in the field of sports. After her parents divorced in 1972 and she started to feel as if she was abandoned. When she was 19 years old she inherited the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. Then she founded her own Los Angeles Blades pro roller hockey team. She was head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice president of the Lakers. Buss inherited her share of the Lakers by her dad in 2013. Five siblings of hers inherited it through a family trust. Buss assumed the role of the president of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also a co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based within Los Angeles.
